So this is .hack//sign, a part of the dot hack series. One of the earlier, I think the earliest one there is. The way I can tell is by the age of the ultimate AI Aura. Aura is, if not in every one of the dot hacks then almost in everyone, and she is a little girl inside of this anime, and this is the only time that you see her as a little girl. But Al Buster doesn’t have Aura in it, so that could have been before it.
Tsukasa is stuck in the game, the World, because his real body went into a coma. He has a lot of negativity about the real world. So being in the game it shocks him at first that he is unable to log out but soon is fine with it. He makes a few unwanted friends with Mimiru and Bear, unwanted because he wants to be alone claiming that the world is his. But Mimiru, Bear and a few others, the Crimson Knights being one(because they thought he was a hacker, an illegal player), kept getting closer to find out why he can’t log out. That is until he and his guardian get caught up with the Crimson Knights, who without Subaru’s orders, took him into custody. That is when Subaru first conversation with Tsukasa. Subaru is the first one to break through his shell by getting closer to him. It is then that he wants to get to the real world again and see her in person.
Though most of the series Aura is asleep floating on a bed inside of a secret part of the world that Tsukasa goes too to find peace, and he talks to Aura and another AI, Maha, or Macha. He finds out how he feels about the real world is translated to the state that Aura is in.

I know everything about this anime. You don’t need to tell me. I'm leaving a spoiler out for reasons.

i enjoyed redoing this because i am in love with the dot hack series. I knew of Kite and Blackrose before watching this, but now i know more.
